Hearts Therapeutic Equestrian Center employs equine assisted activities and therapies to inspire, strengthen, and motivate people of all ages and capabilities.

Hearts has been in the early stages of a Capital Campaign to raise funds to build a new facility next to our current location and began planning for a move by 2021.

Due to this past winter’s rain, County basins and roads have needed to be cleared of debris. The County needs the land that Hearts now occupies to give Flood Control more space to manage excess clean debris next winter. To best serve the Santa Barbara community, Hearts will move locations, but with an accelerated time frame of December 2019.

As Santa Barbara continues to recover from the Thomas Fire and debris flows, Hearts remains committed to assisting in the County’s efforts to prepare for impacts from future rain events. We are working closely with County personnel to make this a smooth transition for Hearts in the coming months.  Hearts stands ready to help the greater Santa Barbara community in every way possible.

We are excited to design a professional facility that will allow Hearts to expand its programming and better serve our participants. The design of the new space will permit multiple programs to operate at the same time in a way that is not currently possible. Planning this new facility is inspiring and exciting, and we look forward to providing life-changing programs to people of all ages with special needs in Santa Barbara for many years to come.
