Hearts is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that receives no state or federal funding. Our annual operating budget is $440,000 and less than one-third of our income comes from lesson fees; the rest is raised through private donations, grants, and fundraising. More than one-third of the riders at Hearts receive a portion of scholarship assistance towards lesson fees. Donations are critical to ensure that no one is turned away from our services due to lack of means. Please consider donating now to help us expand our services to even more riders in the Santa Barbara County. Make a difference in someone’s life today and join the Hearts family as a donor or volunteer!

Here’s how you can make a difference:
• Help fund our scholarship program – $25
• Provide one Therapeutic Riding lesson – $65
• Provide scholarships for a class of 4 riders – $260
• Provide riding lessons for a student for one year – $2,880
• Sponsor a horse for one year – $3,500
• Donate to the Peggy and Roy Wentz Scholarship Fund.
• Donate to the Catherine Swain Memorial Fund.

Ways to Give:
• Credit Card: We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
• Stocks and Securities: Receive a charitable deduction for the market value of the gift, saving the capital gains tax which would otherwise by payable upon the sale of the assets.
• Matching Gifts: Often Employers will match a donation.
